Hampton, VA - On Friday, April 2, 2010 Hampton University will be hosting its 31st annual High School Day, sponsored by the Office of Admissions. Whether you have a middle school aged student who needs to be exposed to a college experience, or even a high school student who is looking for their University choice, a visit to our Home By The Sea is in order.

The free all-day affair will be divided into two sessions. Beginning at 9 a.m., both information and question and answer periods will be designated in the areas of the university’s seven schools, financial aid, and housing. In the afternoon, prospective students will be entertained by the award-winning marching band, featuring Ebony Fire, the Terpsichorean Dance Company, as well as, the University Jazz Band and choir. Student organization will also conduct brief presentations.

"Often students attending High School Day believe that attending Hampton is only a dream," said Melinda Gainer, assistant director of the Hampton University Office of Admissions. "Once they see all of what we offer, they become locked in and realize their dream can actually become their reality."

Hampton University is a private, non-profit, co-educational, historically black university. It is located in the southeastern region of Virginia and possesses one of the most exquisite campuses in the nation, with a waterfront and historical landmarks and buildings.
